This section contains various files to provide you with aircraft for use as a Mercator Virtual Airline pilot. A few of the aircraft are MSFS default aircraft but the majority are designed and developed by various highly talented Flight Simulator designers. (In a few cases you must purchase a payware aircraft model to use the textures provided.)
There is a data line for each aircraft that begins with Contents. The explanation for each category is as follows:
Complete aircraft are flyable after download. They contain all necessary files; i.e.; .air, .cfg, model, textures, panel, and sound. These aircraft have their panel & sound aliased to a MSFS default acft unless otherwise noted. It is assumed you will want to install your favorite panel &/or sound set to each acft. There are literally hundreds to choose from on premier FS sites like Flightsim.com or Avsim.com
Textures Only contain, in most cases, a single texture folder that when applied to a previously installed base or recommended model and a special .cfg modification is made (explained in the Readme) converts that aircraft into a Mercator aircraft. A few aircraft have several texture folders due to special livery paint schemes for that aircraft.
Select Textures Only contain only select BMP Textures to convert an aircraft into a Mercator model. This category will require the previous installation of a base or recommended model, then the copying and renaming of a texture folder within that acfts folder and finally the adding of the Select Textures included in the Mercator download. When the Select Textures are added to this newly copied Texture folder they will produce the Mercator model.
To Download acft packages:
RIGHT-click the download button
Select "Save Target As..." and point the dialogue box to a folder on your computer.
When ready, select "Save."
All files are in .ZIP format. Please be aware that some of these files are VERY large
